Financial Assistance Schemes of North Maharashtra University:

  • Economically Backward Student Support Scheme

                The student of the school, who cannot afford the University education are benefited under this scheme.

Eligibility: The poor , needy and hardworking students enrolled in any of the schools on the University Campus or affiliated colleges.

  • Book Bank Scheme

                Under this scheme, the school provides the students a set of prescribed text books for a academic year. The student has to pay 10% amount of the total price of a set as deposit.

Eligibility: The student, who is passed with first class is selected considering the available sets.

  • Karamveer Bhaurao Patil Earn and Learn Scheme

                In this scheme the students work for three hours daily in departmental library/ laboratories/office/garden of the University and earn money.

Eligibility:  Economically backward students enrolled in any of the schools on the University Campus.

  • Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Hostel Student Support Scheme

                The Students of the schools who are enrolled in the hostels of the University are benefited under this scheme

Eligibility: The poor , needy and hardworking students enrolled in any of the schools on the University Campus.

  • NMU Students Adoption Scheme

                Department of Student Welfare has started this scheme from the academic year 2011-12 for the needy and hardworking students enrolled in any of the schools on the University Campus. 10 male and 10 female students are selected for this scheme.

Eligibility:

1. The student should be admitted in the school of the university on the campus.

2. The student should be from economically backward class.

3. He/she secure at least 60% marks in previous examination.

4. The student should work at least 3 hours in the Karamveer Bhaurao Patil Earn and Learn Scheme.

5. The student should provide certificate of economically backward class issued by the Tahsildar/Magistrate.

Benefits:

Rs. 10,000/- per year up to graduation

Rs. 12,000/- per year up to post-graduation (Arts, Commerce and Management)

Rs. 15,000/- per year up to post-graduation (Science, Engg. and Technology)

  • Student Research Motivation Scheme

        To help research students for the motivation of research in University as well as affiliated colleges.

Eligibility: The student should be a regularly admitted in the university school/affiliated colleges.

Benefits of the Scheme:        Rs. 5000/- First Prize

                                                   Rs. 3000/- Second Prize

                                                   Rs. 2000/- Third Prize

  • Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Medical Assistance Scheme

                To help the students of university schools/affiliated colleges in case of serious disease and accident. The student should provide the medical bill with concern doctor's prescription.

  • Students Group Insurance Scheme

                To open insurance policy of students by charging meager fee of Rs. 5/-.

Eligibility: The student should be a regularly admitted in the university school/affiliated colleges.

Benefits: Rs. 50,000/- from insurance company and Rs. 5000/- from Vice Chancellor fund will be provided to parents/successor of the student in case of death of the student.

  • Scholarship Scheme

                Scholarships/Free ships are provided to the candidate belonging to SC, OBC, NT, SBC categories as per the rules of Social Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra. ST category candidates are provided with Scholarships/Free ships as per the rules of Tribal Development Department, Government of Maharashtra.

  • Research Fellowship in Sciences for Meritorious Students of UGC, New Delhi

                The Research Fellowship in Sciences for meritorious students (RFSMS) scheme of the UGC is open to candidates who have registered for Ph.D. in Science in Universities with Potential for Excellence/Centres with Potential for Excellence/Centres of Advance Studies and Department of Special Assistance identified by UGC.

  • INSPIRE Fellowship of DST, New Delhi

Innovation   in   Science   Pursuit   for   Inspired   Research (INSPIRE)

Eligibility criteria: 1st Rank Holders at University Level Examination (not at Autonomous College Level examination)  of post-graduate programs in science streams and undergraduate / post-graduation programs in engineering / technology / agriculture / pharmacy / other applied science streams at any recognized universities and academic institutions.

  • Maulana Azad National Fellowship For Minority Students, UGC, New Delhi

                The objective of the Fellowship is to provide integrated five year fellowships in the form of financial assistance to students from minority communities, as notified by the Central Government to pursue higher studies such as M. Phil and Ph.D. The Fellowship will cover all Universities/Institutions recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) and section 3 of the UGC Act alongwith those which are not under the purview of UGC and will be implemented by the Ministry of Minority Affairs through UGC for students belonging to the minority communities. The fellowship under Maulana Azad National Fellowship for minority students will be on the pattern of UGC Fellowships awarded to research students pursuing regular and full time M. Phil and Ph.D courses. The fellowship holders under this Fellowship will be known as Ministry of Minority Affairs scholars.

  • Dr. D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship of UGC, New Delhi

                These fellowships are open to candidates who have obtained Ph.D. degree or have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and meant for full-time research work

  • Women Scientist-A (WDS-A) of Department of Science and Technology

                The "Women Scientists Scheme (WOS)" has been evolved by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) for providing opportunities to women scientists and technologists between the age group of 30-50 years who desire to return to mainstream science and work as bench-level scientists. Through this endeavour of the Department, a concerted effort would be made to give women a strong foothold into the scientific profession, help them re-enter into the mainstream and provide a launch pad for further forays into the field of science and technology, both from the point of view of pure science and its application to societal development.

Under this scheme, women scientists are being encouraged to pursue research in frontier areas of science and engineering, on problems of societal relevance and to take up S&T-based internship followed by self-employment.

  • Post-Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child of UGC, New Delhi

                In order to achieve and promote girls education, UGC has introduced a Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for single girl child with an aim to compensate direct costs of girl education to all levels specially for such girls who happen to be the only girl child in their families.

  • Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship For Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Candidates  of UGC, New Delhi

                The Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF)  Scheme for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes is formulated and funded by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and Ministry of Tribal Affairs.  The scheme is open to candidates who belong to Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribe and wish to pursue higher studies such as regular and full time M.Phil. and Ph.D degrees in Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences and Engineering & Technology.
