Affiliation Section

The affiliation section deals with preparation of Perspective Plan to establish New College/Recognized Institute and granting affiliation to the New Colleges/Recognized Institutes, Extension of affiliation, Permanent Affiliation, Natural Growth and Continuation of Affiliation to the existing affiliated Colleges/Recognized Institutes, as prescribed in Section 107 to 124 of the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016.

From the Academic Year 2018-19, the procedure of granting affiliation to the New Colleges/Recognized Institutes and Extension of affiliation to the existing affiliated Colleges/ Recognized Institutes has been modified & prescribed newly by the State Government of Maharashtra, respectively vide its resolution bearing No.NGC 2017/(29/17)/Mashi 4, dated 15 Sep. 2017 and no. NGC 2017/(208/17)/Mashi-4,Dt. 13 Sep. 2017.

Innovative Practices of Affiliation Section:-
  • Sanction of affiliation to the Colleges/Recognized Institutes is displayed on university website.

  • All necessary formats, Government letters, Government Resolutions pertaining to this section is displayed on university website.

  • All the application, viz. New Colleges, Extension of affiliation, Natural Growth, Permanent Affiliation and

  • Continuation of affiliation is accepted through online system and all working is to be done through online system as well.

Quality Objectives of Affiliation Section:-
  • Online affiliation for all the colleges and recognized institutes. To impart quality Higher Education to the

  • students by making special arrangements in Perspective Plan of the university.

 

The procedure of granting affiliation, in short, is stated as under:-

 

1. New Colleges/Recognized Institutes
  • To publish advertisement for new colleges proposals in the month of September.

  • To accept the proposals for new colleges up to 30 September.

  • To appoint scrutiny committee up to 05 October.

  • Meeting of scrutiny committee (Approximately 10 October.)

  • To submit the report of Scrutiny Committee to Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor (Approximately 14 Oct.)

  • To inform the queries to the concerned those found in proposals (Approximately 20 Oct.)

  • To fulfill quarries by the concerned (Approximately 25 Oct.)

  • Second meeting of Scrutiny committee (Approximately 28 Oct. )

  • To verify the quarries fulfilled by the concerned & submit report to the Board of Deans Chairman (Approximately 31 Oct.)

  • As per requirement expert committee is constituted. (Approximately 01November)

  • Expert Committee submits its report to Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor through Board of Deans (Up to 10 November)

  • To inform the concerned about eligible or not eligible of proposals.

  • To submit the appeal to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor (Up to 20th November)

  • Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor takes decision over appeals. (Up to 23rd November)

  • All eligible proposals are submitted to State Govt. (Up to 30th November)

  • After scrutiny of proposals by the State Govt. Letter of intent is issued to the eligible proposals. (Up to 31st January)

  • Quarries mentioned in the Letter of Intent, concerned institute will have to make compliance of quarries & submit compliance report to the university. (Up to 31 January of the next year)

  • Expert committee is constituted by the university to inspect the institution as per compliance report.

  • Those institutes make compliance their proposals are sent for final approval for new colleges.

  • Up to 15 June approval of the Govt. is issued through G.R.

 

2. For Extension Proposals (New Faculty, New Course, New Subject, Addl. Division)
  • To publish advertisement for new colleges proposals in the month of September

  • To accept the proposal for extension. (Up to 30th September)

  • To appoint scrutiny committee (Up to 05th October)

  • Meeting of scrutiny committee (Approximately 10th October)

  • To submit report of scrutiny committee to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor (Up to 15th October.)

  • To inform the quarries to the concerned found in proposal. (Up to 20th October)

  • To fulfill the quarries (Up to 31st October)

  • Second meeting of the scrutiny committee. (Approximately 06th November)

  • To verify the quarries and submit report of eligible proposals to Chairman Board of Deans (Up to 15th November)

  • As per requirement expert committee is constituted by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor. (Approximately 16th November)

  • Expert Committee visits to concerned college. (Up to 15th December)

  • Expert Committee submits its report to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor through Chairman Board of Deans.

  • To inform the concerned colleges about eligible or not eligible proposals. (Up to 25th January)

  • Colleges submit their appeals to the university regarding their proposals decided not eligible. (Up to 15th February)

  • Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor takes decision over appeals. (Up to 15th March)

  • All eligible proposals are submitted to the State Govt. . (Up to 01st April)

  • After scrutiny of the proposals, eligible proposals are permitted (Up to 15th June)

 

3. Natural Growth of affiliated Colleges/Recognized Institutes:-
  • Accept proposals before 30 September of the preceding year.

  • Scrutiny of applications and documents, as attached with the applications by Board of Dean.

  • Recommendations of Board of Deans to the Management Council.

  • Recommendations of Management Council to the State Government of Maharashtra.

  • Submission of proposals to the State Government with recommendation of Management Council before 31st December.

  • Sanction of proposal by the Joint Director of the region.

  • Affiliation by university to the affiliated Colleges/Recognized Institutes.

 

4. Permanent Affiliation to the affiliated Colleges/Recognized Institutes:-
  • Accept proposals before 30 September of the preceding year.

  • Scrutiny of applications and documents, as attached with the applications by Board of Deans.

  • Recommendations of Board of Deans to the Academic Council.

  • Appointment of Local Inspection Committee.

  • Submission of report by Local Inspection Committee before Academic Council.

  • Decision of Academic Council and permanent affiliation issued by the university to the Colleges/Recognized Institutes.

 

5. Continuation of Affiliation to the affiliated Colleges:-
  • Accept proposals before 30 September of the preceding year. (with late fees as prescribed in university Revised Ordinance 172 A)

  • Appointment of different Local Inspection Committees.

  • Submission of report by L.I.C. committee before Board of Deans.

  • Board of Deans submit the report to Academic Council.

  • Decision of Academic Council and affiliation is issued by the university to the Colleges/ Recognized Institutes.
