About School

The School offers the B.Sc. (Honours) Major in Industrial Electronics with a Minor in Solar Photovoltaic systems or Data Science, M.Sc. (Physics with specialization in Materials Science), M.Sc. (Physics with specialization in Energy Studies), M.Sc. (Electronics), and Ph.D. (Physics/Electronics) degree programs under the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

The B.Sc. (Honours) program integrates theoretical knowledge with practical applications, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) and is Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Program (AEDP). School have designed the course in collaboration of Electronics Sector Skill Council of India (ESSCI) and have signed MoU with ESSCI. The course facilitates multiple entry and multiple exits for the student. The students if desire to exit receive certification after successful completion of one year, diploma after second year and degree after third year. The four year includes apprenticeship in the industry and after successful completion students receive Honors in Electronics. The course focuses on developing foundational skills in electronics, renewable energy, and data analytics, preparing students for advanced studies and industry roles.

The M.Sc. program commences from the 1st of July every year and spans two years, divided into 14 theory and 6 experimental/laboratory courses and involves 88 credits. For the M.Sc. Physics program, the core content of the syllabi for both specializations is common in the first year. Each student must carry out an innovative application based or research-level project during the last two semesters.

The M.Sc. program in Electronics emphasizes Microprocessor-based instrumentation, optoelectronic device design and fabrication, VLSI design, and the development of devices using CAD tools.

The students undergo intensive training under On-the-Job Training / Internship after completion of second semester of PG program. The school has developed industry-academic linkages and freedom lies with the student to choose the industry from their field of interest.

Students are assessed and evaluated throughout the semester by a system of continue assessment through tests, seminars, home assignments, and semester-end examinations. The School follows the CGPA system for grading the PG students under Academic Flexibility.
