Post-graduate Students
A significant number of students qualify NET, SET and GATE examinations, while many have moved abroad and National Research Laboratories for higher doctoral studies. Many PG and research student participate every year and have been selected at State-level Avishkar research competition. A few PG students with the support of research scholars and faculties periodically publish research articles in peer-reviewed journals with good impact factors based on M.Sc. dissertation work.
M.Phil./Ph.D. Scholars
Several fellowships of International and National repute are awarded to the Post-PG students including Post-Ph.D. [International Marie Curie Post-Doctoral Fellowship, UGC and DST Post-Doctoral Fellowships (DST NPDF), DST Young Scientist] and Ph.D. Fellowships [DST Inspire Fellowships (JRF and SRF), CSIR-SRF, UGC-BSR/ RFSMS, UGC-Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (JRF and SRF) for SC/ST, Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minorities, Lady TATA memorial Trust etc.].
Many research students present their research work at conferences abroad in countries like Japan, France, Switzerland, Indonesia, Thailand, Italy, Germany, Sweden etc. A few have also received international Fellowship like World Bank Institute Robert S. McNamara (RSM) Fellowship, Australian Government's 'Endeavour Research Fellowship, US government Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship, French Government’s Charpak Research Fellowship, Israel Government International Research Fellowship etc. as well as visiting fellowships in India such as Visva-Bharati Universtiy, Shantiniketan (WB), UGC-NRC Visiting Fellowship etc. to undertake research endeavours out of campus for a few months. The research students also receive prizes and awards of national repute on a frequent basis.
