Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University with its deep commitment to the upliftment of the educationally disadvantaged groups has established a Department and this may itself be considered as an important expression of this commitment. An important objective of this department is to create, preserve and disseminate knowledge to all through the Distance Education Learning System. Distance Education Department proposes to offer a range of programmes (General, Professional, and Liberal) keeping in mind worldwide and local inclination. Distance Education Department will always try to provide need-based programmes and services to its learners.

Distance Education Education:- With a view to widening the horizons of education and opening the new frontiers of knowledge and democratizing the teaching learning process, Distance Education Education is initiated. Non-formal education systems like Open Universities, Open schools, distance learning or Distance Education systems are introduced to overcome the inadequacies of the traditional and formal education system. Education has to be made accessible to all irrespective of Financial, Social, Psychological and other conditions. In this context, Distance Education Education has been found an alternative, a boon, and a remedial measure.

Its Jurisdiction is only for 3 Districts, named Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar. The major region of these districts comes under rural area, so many Students works in field and earn money for learning. In Nandurbar district, 65% population comes under Schedule Tribe (ST) and it is tribal area.

An important objective of this University is to create, preserve and disseminate knowledge to all through the Distance Education Learning System. The University proposes to offer a range of programmes (General, Professional, and Liberal) keeping in mind worldwide and local inclination. The university will always try to provide need-based programmes and services to its learners.
