Department of Mass communication and Journalism constantly runs knowledge oriented activities for all its students. The activities like lectures and workshops give our students an extra boost to think in a creative way. These activities involve the students to do some journalistic program, which helps them to be a good journalist. Below are some of the recent activities of this department.

  • Miss Dipali Jagtap, Broadcast Journalist, BBC News Mumbai, given online lecture on ‘Field Reporting’ on 30 October 2021.

  • Special lecturer program on ‘Mooknayak @100 Years’ held on 1 February 2020. Dr Babasheb Ambekar started the news paper ‘Mooknayak’ on 31 January 1920. In this year it was completed 100 years therefore department organized this special lecture program for the all students in university campus.

  • Marathi Journalism day program organized on 7 January 2019. Shri Milind Kulkarni, Editor, Daily Lokmat, Jalgaon was chief guest for this program.

  • Student’s communication program organized on 2 April 218. Mr.Makarand Dandavate, News editor, daily Divya Marathi Jalgaon was chief guest for this program.

  • Students of Department of Mass communication and Journalism, Solapur University Solapur was visited to our department on 23 March 2018.

  • Marathi Journalism day program organized on 6 January 2018. Mr. Hemant Alone, Editor, Daily Deshdoot, Jalgaon was chief guest for this program.

  • Fresher program organized on 21 September 2017. Mr. Vilas Bodakhe, PRO, District Information office, Jalgaon was chief guest for this program.

  • Lab Journal publication program organized on 6 September 2017. Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. P.P. Patil sir and Honorabale Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof P. P. Mahulikar sir was guide the students on this occasion.

  • Special program on ‘Changing media and Public Relations’ was organized in the occasion of Marathi Journalism day (6 January 2017). Mr. Satish lalit, Department of Information and public Relation, Nasik was guiding the students on this occasion.

  • Wachan Prerana Din celebration on the occasion of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Jayanti on 15th October 2015.

  • Interview of National Award Winner Film Khwada’s Director Bhausaheb Karahade on 11th October 2015.

  • Lecture on soft Skills by Rahul Kapure at the School of Language, on 29th September 2015.

  • Lecture on soft Skills by Rahul Kapure at Jai Hind College Dhule, on 23rd September 2015.

  • Lecture on Pagination by Yogesh Shukla and Sumersing on 22nd September 2015.

  • Adivasi Pada visit to Chopda (Maya and Gowrya Pada) on 19th September 2015.

  • Lecture on journalism in Defense by Mr. Narendra Vispute on 4th of September 2015.

  • Lecture on soft skills by Rahul kapure at the Department of Environmental Science NMU on 25th August 2015.

  • Photography day- Lecture on Photography by Shailesh Patil (NMU) and Sanap Sir on 19th August 2015.

  • Street play on Digital India by Rahul Kapure, Sandip kedar And MSW, MCJ students (NMU) on 11th August 2015

  • Lecture on research methodology for media surveys delivered by Manisha Indaini and Prashant Sonawane from NMU on 09 October 2014

  • Lecture on journalistic practices and parliamentary proceedings delivered by Vinod shirsath (Sahdana) Nagesh kesari (V.S. Page sansdiya prashikshn Kendra, Mumbai) on 17 September 2014

  • Lecture on Community radio station delivered by Sanjay Chandekar (head of FTII CRS) on 15 September 2014

  • Two days Workshop on Electronic Media By media professionals of zee 24 tas,me Marathi,jay Maharashtra,lokmat newspaper 22 to 23 August 2014.

  • Lecture on writing for radio delivered by Govind Godbole (retd. employee of AIR) on 20 August 2014 .

  • Inauguration of a film club in department on 09 August 2014

  • Special edition of Umavi Varta published on the ocussion of University Foundation Day was published on 07 August 2014

  • Lecture on careers in advertising delivered by Meghana Bhagwat from Mumbai (Ad agency head ) on 21 July 2014

  • Red Ribbon, NSS and MCJ organized a workshop on HIV awareness on 10 March 2014

  • Media visit to Makhanlal Chaturvedi Patrakarita Vishwa Vidyalay, Madhavrao Sapre samachar Sangrhalay and Bhaskar media group -Bhopal on 03 March 2014

  • Celebration of Mahaparinirvan Din of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar by arranging a lecture “Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar – A Journalist” delivered by Mr. Jaisingh Wagh, Social worker.

  • Celebration of Mahila Din on the occasion of Savitribai Phule Jayant on 3rd January, 2008

  • Mr. Anil Patil, News Editor, Daily Punyanagri, delivered lecture on “Today’s Journalism” (6th January 2011) Mr Anil Patve a residential Editor from Divya Marathi gave lecture and guided the students on “ Print and Electronic Media “ on the eve of Journalism Day on 6th January , 2013.

  • A PRO from Ministry of Defence , Mr. Narendra Visputte gave a technical lecture on “ Government PR systems on 15th July, 2013.

  • A senior Journalist Mr. Mujafar Hussan , a column writer and Padmashri award winner shared his views on “ The Present status of News Journalism in India “ on 30th July, 2013.

  • Guest expert Lecture was given by Post Doctoral Journalism Research Fellow , Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathawada University on “ Developmental Journalism in Present era” on 23rd August, 2013.

  • Mr. Vishal Chadda a Sub Editor from Dainik Bhaskar (Hindi daily) delivered lecture on "The new trends of Broad Casting Media with the recent rise in FM channels". It was on 17th October 2013.

  • Mrs. Pragati Bankhele a Chief Copy Editor from Maharashtra Times Mumbai delivered a lecture on Journalism Day 6 th January 2014 to commemorate the memory of Darpankar, Balshastri Jambhekar. She guided students on print Media career

  • National Webinar on ‘Covid-19 : Positive Media and Society’ organizes by MCNU Bhopal, KBCNMU JALGAON, Mulyanugat Media Indor, (5 July 2020)

  • University level workshop on ‘Photo Journalism’ on 25 February 2020, Near 20 students and 13 photo journalists was participated for this workshop.

  • University level workshop on ‘Radio Programme production, News editing and skills’, on 14-15 February 2020. Near 52 students are participated this workshop.

  • State level one day seminar on ‘Dimension of Marathi Journalism’ on the occasion of Marathi Journalism day (6 January 2020). News paper editor of local news papers was guide on this seminar.

  • State level one day workshop on ‘Research Methodology’ on 31 January 2019. Near about 175 students and 15 Teachers are participated for this workshop.

  • State level two day workshop on ‘Radio program production’ on 30 and 31 August 2018. Near about 45 students are participated for this workshop.

  • State level two day workshop on ‘TV program production and Editing’ on 9 and 10 October 2017. Near about 32 students are participated for this workshop.

  • University level one day workshop on ‘Corporate communication’ on 17 September 2017. Near about 33 students are participated for this workshop.5

  • State level two day workshop on ‘Newspapers Making, Designing and content writing’ on 11 and 12 September 2017. Near about 35 students are participated for this workshop.

  • National level two day conference on ‘Women and Media: Past, Present and Future’ held on 30 and 31 March 2017. Near about 19 Teachers and 56 students are participated.

  • Workshop on Script writing and film appreciation by Amar Devkar and Digvijay Thorat on 10th and 11th Aug 2015

  • Workshop on Public Relation and Corporate communication by Sunil Patil (PRO, NMU) and Vinod Rapatqwar (PRO, Jain Irrigation) and Milind Dusane on 15th September 2015

  • Two days National Conference on “Journalism and Social Responsibility” organized on 11 and 12th February, 2014. More than 150 delegates from all parts of India participated in the Conference.
