The Department of Music was established in Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University in 2006-2007. Within a short span of time this department has made good progress.

The Department of Music wishes to act as the beacon of peaceful life and give real entertainment to common people in this region as well as global level. The Department of Music will act as the resource centre for the intellectuals, musicians, youth artists and the students. The Department of Music will guide the needy those who want to promote their life style in classical musician ways. This Department. is ready to support, guide, enact, mobilize, organize & to implement the activities according to need as well as availability of the resources. Our aim is to promote a meaningful vision and life style, with traditional and modern practices.

The Department of Music, North Maharashtra University is situated in the midst of Khandesh which is covering Dhule, Jalgaon and Nandurbar district. Without correct planning of working time and with stress of every day life common people face problems including health, mental, economical and social imbalance lead the youth and farmers towards violence and suicide.

The Department of Music intensively wants to give peace and enjoyment of life to the youth and organize cultural programms at different levels.

• To develop the skills required for Understanding principles of Music

• To educate the students to build and develop the Culture of peace.

• To conduct examinations of different fields of Music i.e. Classical and Instrumental both for school and college students.

• To strengthen the Auditorium and Studio as a regional performing centre.

• To organize photo exhibition on folk Art and Local Religious Traditional of Music and screening films.

• To provide training to students in the subject of Traditional Local Music and entrepreneurship development and create awareness on locally produced Performing Arts.

• To establish the audio – visual centre.

• To conduct the research Activities on above subject.

• To conduct the various extension activities.

• To organize seminars and workshops.

• To conduct the various activities to propagate the Music programs.
