To promote and strengthen Women’s Studies through teaching, research, documentation, field work and extension which will contribute erudite knowledge, relevant theories and open a dialogue in multidisciplinary collaboration.

Mission

To impart relevant quality higher education to the students, to groom them to be conscious researchers, technologists, professionals and citizens, bearing the torch for disseminating knowledge in masses for sustainable socioeconomic development of the society.

• To initiate the gender perspectives in all domains of knowledge and in the fields of policy design and practice.

• To formulate new definitions and methods to lead to sensitization towards gender issues.

• To mould young students to give up gender biases, build on mutualities and embolden girl students and women to become active stakeholders in the process of nation building.

• Mobilize women’s opinion and action on critical, social, political and economic issues.

• Study the needs of tribal, rural women and also women from disadvantaged groups to bring about social change.

• To build linkages with other women’s organizations, women- activists and NGO’s to open a dialogue in multidisciplinary collaborations.
