The Department of Economics was started in 2011-2012. The Department offers two year M.A. and conducts the post graduate course. The staff members have authored several research papers in National and International levels and participated in State and National conferences. The Department has organized various State and National level Conferences.

The Department also conducts NET/SET coaching classes in the vacations. Statistics Economics is the new paper introduced at Post-Graduate level.

Economics is not only a pure theory but also an applied science. The scope of Economics is Banking and International trade. Economics is a subject of great interest and demand worldwide from various angles. In India, talent from the field of Economics is required for the jobs at IES,ITS, RBI, NABARD, Financial Institutions, Commercial Banks, Co-Operative Banks and Other private and public sector organizations.
