In the context of globalization and subsequent rapid changes in social structure, its impact on Indian society, has increased complexity of social problems. Social Work as a profession increasingly acknowledged as a core profession in the process of social and human development. The professional activities enable the individuals, families, communities to satisfy their needs and resolve their problems, preferably in their own culture and social milieu. Now a day, society is facing a variety of issues which come into the fold of professional social work education, training and practice. So to meet these needs there is huge demand for trained social workers and new avenues are being opened where human help is needed for dealing with social problems. Keeping in view the current demand for professional social workers, University authorities has started Master’s of Social Work, with a special emphasis on development of competent and efficient social workers.
