In order to provide new avenues of higher education to the tribally dominated population of North Maharashtra region, the North Maharashtra University was established on 15th August, 1990 at Jalgaon. In this short span of 21 years university has bagged many accolades of honor and achievements. The university campus is situated on the banks of river, “Girna” and this beautiful campus is spread over hilly terrain of approx. 625+ acres. The University is approximately 10 kms. away from Jalgaon City. The pollution free hilly terrain has augmented the academic ambience of the campus, making it one of the ideal places for taking higher education. Considering the requirements of this cyber age, the university campus is equipped with modern facilities and amenities. The potential of the emerging trends in various fields of Science and Technology were rightly tapped from time to time till date and different curricula are/were imparted through 16 Academic Schools and Departments of the university. University is making heavy use of ICT in its administrative and academic functioning. Though the academia on the campus is engaged in doing high quality research in frontier areas of Science and Technology, we still firmly believe that our research and technology will make sense, only if these are applicable in real life in user friendly way and as part of our efforts in this direction, university has undertaken two ambitious projects, “Lab-to-Land” and “Lab to Industry”.
The University was awarded 'A' Grade with 3.11 CGPA in 3rd Cycle re-accreditation in year 2015 by National Assessement and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore. As per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) - 2016 by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, North Maharashtra University ranked 59th amongst top 100 Universities and Institutes in India. We are committed to provide high quality education to our students to make our country a true super power as envisioned by the father of nation late Mahatma Gandhi and His Excellency the Ex-president of the country Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam under the guidance of our Hon’ble Vice-chancellor Prof. P. P. Patil himself.
