1.       Introduction :

 The affiliation section deals with preparation of Perspective Plan to establish New College/Recognized Institute and granting affiliation to the New Colleges/Recognized Institutes, Extension of affiliation, Permanent Affiliation, Natural Growth and Continuation of Affiliation to the existing affiliated Colleges/Recognized Institutes, as prescribed in Section 81 to 92 of the Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994.   

 From the Academic Year 2011-12, the procedure of granting affiliation to the New Colleges/Recognized Institutes and Extension of affiliation to the existing affiliated Colleges/ Recognized Institutes has been modified & prescribed newly by the State Government of Maharashtra, vide its resolution bearing No.NGC 2010/(193/10)/Mashi 4, dated 30^th October, 2010.  The State Government of Maharashtra has again modified some criteria for calling application of granting affiliation to the New Colleges/Recognized Institutes and Extension of affiliation to the existing affiliated Colleges/ Recognized Institutes and issued a Government Resolution bearing No. NGC 2011/(240/11)/Mashi 4, dated 25^th October, 2011.

3.  Innovative Practices :

1.Sanction of affiliation to the Colleges/Recognized Institutes is displayed on university website.

2. All necessary formats, Government letters, Government Resolutions pertaining to this section is displayed on university website.

3. All the application, viz. New Colleges, Extension of affiliation, Natural Growth, Permanent Affiliation and Continuation of affiliation is accepted through online system.

4.Quality Objectives :

1.Online affiliation for all the colleges and recognized institutes.

2. To impart quality Higher Education to the students by making special arrangements in Perspective Plan of the university.

5.Procedure of granting affiliation :

 [A]       New Colleges/Recognized Institutes & Extension of affiliation to the existing affiliated Colleges & Recognized Institutes: 

1Publish an advertisement for calling proposals for New Colleges/Institutes and Extension of affiliation.

2. Accept proposals before 31^st October of the preceding year.

3.Scrutiny of applications and documents, as attached with the applications by 15^th November.

4.Compliance of discrepancies alongwith required documents with the applications by the concerned Institutions before 30^th November.

5. Visit of Expert Committee to the eligible Institutions/Colleges /Recognized Institutes and submission of report to the university by 15^th February.

6.Decision of eligibility of the proposals by the Hon’ble Vice-Chanceller before 25^th February.

7. Appeal on the decision of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor before 15^th March by the concerned Institutions/Colleges/Recognized Institutes.

8.Decision of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor on appeal before 15^th April.

9. Submission of eligible applications to the State Government of Maharashtra before  1^st May by university.

10.Sanction of proposal by State Government of Maharashtra before 15^th June.

11.Grant of first time affiliation to the New Colleges/Institutes and affiliation to the existing Colleges/Recognized Institutes for Extension, which are sanctioned by the State Government.

[B]       Natural Growth of affiliated Colleges/Recognized Institutes:

1.Accept proposals before 31^st October of the preceding year.

2. Scrutiny of applications and documents, as attached with the applications by Board of Colleges and University Development (B.C.U.D.).

3. Recommendations of B.C.U.D. to the Management Council.

4. Recommendations of Management Council to the State Government of Maharashtra.

5. Submission of proposals to the State Government with recommendation of Management Council before 31^st December.

6.Sanction of proposal by State Government of Maharashtra.

7. Affiliation by university to the affiliated Colleges/Recognized Institutes.

[C]      Permanent Affiliation to the affiliated Colleges/Recognized Institutes:-

1. Accept proposals before 31^st October of the preceding year.

2.Scrutiny of applications and documents, as attached with the applications by Board of Colleges and University Development (B.C.U.D.).

3. Recommendations of B.C.U.D. to the Academic Council.

4. Appointment of Local Inspection Committee.

5. Submission of report by Local Inspection Committee before Academic Council.

6. Decision of Academic Council and permanent affiliation by the university to the Colleges/Recognized Institutes.

[D]       Continuation of Affiliation to the affiliated Colleges:-

1. Accept proposals before 31^st October (with late fees as prescribed in university Ordinance 172) of the preceding year.

2. Appointment of different Local Inspection Committees.

3. Submission of L.I.C. report before Academic Council.

4. Decision of Academic Council and affiliation by the university to the Colleges/ Recognized Institutes.
