Objectives :

1

To Conduct all Examinations as per the Calendar of Examination.   

All examinations at the degree courses in all faculties & post-graduate degrees are conducted Annually and in Semester wise   prescribed in the syllabus & directed by the Board of Examinations.

2.

To preserve confidentiality of the examination system

To adopt a model exam system characterized by confidentiality-impartiality, accuracy & speed by implementing a confidential mechanism regarding appointment of paper-setters, examiners & selection of codes among the sets of question papers, evaluation & revaluation, store, use of examination material & declaration of results.

3.

To evaluate answer books through Central Assessment Programme

Evaluation of all answer scripts of all examinations is conducted through the Central Assessment Program (CAP).

4.

To declare results speedily

As per section 72 of the Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994, the results of every exam conducted is declared within 30 days or maximum 45 days

5.

To curb malpractices / unfair means in the Examination

For prevention of malpractices, the University appoints 04 to 07 flying squads during examination period. The affiliated colleges also appoint internal flying squads.

6.

To issue, photocopies of answer books, redressal mechanism to valuation. 

From the academic year 2004-05 this university provides Photocopies of answer books on the demand of students. The students may challenge to the previous valuation under redressal mechanism for this purpose University has an Ordinance No. 134

7.

Verification of Answer books 

As per Ordinance 149,  this University provides verification facility to the students

8.

Declaration of Merit List 

This University declares merit lists for all courses in the month of Nov. / Dec. every year.

9.

 Arrangement of Convocation

This University holds   Annual Convocation as per Section 98 of the Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994. The Gold medals are also awarded at the annual Convocation to the meritorious students. 


10.

Issue of Migration Certificate

From November, 2007 this task is also transferred to the examination section. This section issues a Migration Certificate to the students on their demand.

II) Confidential Section:

The confidential section is divided into two units, namely (a) Pre-exam confidential unit (b) Post-exam confidential unit.

a) Pre-Exam (Confidential)

  1. Arrange meetings of 32 (5)(a) committees for selecting panels for paper setter, examiner, moderators etc.
  2. Send appointment letters to paper setters as approved under section 32 of the Maharashtra Universities Act.1994.
  3. Arrange subject-wise, course-wise meetings of paper setters.
  4. Acceptance of three sealed sets of question papers from the Chairman of paper setters.
  5. Selection of sets by the Deans of concerned faculties. Make it available to the Controller of Examinations for further process.
  6. Determine the subject wise figures as per the summery received from the Computer section for printing of question papers.
  7. Receiving of sealed question papers packets from Press and distribute it to the examination centers.

  1. Uploading eligibility status of students under e-suvidha scheme.
  2. Pre-exam work: to prepare a data base from exam form, allotment of permanent registration number, seat number, printing of subject wise, centre wise summary for theory and practical examination, generation of hall tickets and different reports required for confidential work.
  3. Post-exam work: Data entry of marks for internal and practical exams, scanning of bar-code slips and generate mark lists from it along with validation. Processing the results, printing of ledgers and statement of marks, computing result statistics, uploading of results on Web. For convocation, preparation of database for printing of degree certificates and its validation from result database.
  4. Verification, Redressal mechanism: entry all forms received from students, prepare database, provide the reports to post exam confidential unit, generation of change and no change in marks letters to be issued to the students, alter the marks of change cases and preparation of revising mark statements after changes if any.
  5. Preparation of duplicate mark statements, name correction mark statement etc.
