The Department of Defence Strategic Studies (DDSS) was established in academic year 2010-2011 under the auspices of School of Social Sciences, Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University (NMU), Jalgaon (Maharashtra). Currently, DDSS is functioning under NMU’s School of Arts & Humanities.
DDSS is working towards imparting relevant and contemporary education, in the field of Security Studies, thereby nurturing human resources towards Sustainable Development. The core consideration behind this initiative is the need to substantively establish and expand high quality studies in national security.
